did the trick.. has some very interesting information on here.. probably the best art class I have ever taken and I'm sure 50% of that is due to the information in the text. would order again !
I am taking a course in Art History and this is the selected text book. I am pleased with the information in the book. Have rented it from Amazon which was a much less expensive way to go. Will be able to return book at the end of the semester.
Personally even though I had to buy the book, I never really used it. I still passed the class with an A. Make sure you need the book before you actually get it. Remember there is always PDF for this kind of stuff too.
I rented this book for a Art History class and was super impressed how simple and detailed each era was. My favorite parts were the "Look Closer" section where you look at the different details in a painting, building or a sculpture. If you were assigned to get this book from your Professor/teacher, you did a great job purchasing this book!
My granddaughter needed this for her Art History class and to save money we decided to rent instead of buying. Real Money saver!!!!!
For an art book, it was really good. It helped that the teacher was really into her topics. The book covered details well, and did a good job (I thought) of walking you through how art evolved. Good pictures too.
I rented this book and this is how it came in. All the pictures of naked women are covered with taped/glued pieces of paper throughout the whole book. Even pictures of sculptures and stained glass are covered. Are all the books like this or did I just happen to get the one that was altered?
It's a pretty good basic art history book. Not too boring or technical.
