I primarily purchased this book because I was interested in learning more about Tupac who I'm big fan of. So I was thinking the parts about Frank's life were going to be boring-- I was dead wrong. Frank's story is very sad but at the same time fascinating. There is so much he has seen his life and I found it very interesting to read about how he processed all the events that took place in his life. Frank is an excellent storyteller. This book is written in a conversational style which makes for an easy and smooth read. Frank uses a lot of slang terms but you should able to keep up if you're a hip hop head like me. Now about the Tupac parts. Tupac is an incredibly complicated individual. He's kind-hearted yet confrontational. He was wise yet immature. He had a huge generous heart but that heart was also filled with rage and anguish. Frank did a great job at great job at documenting all sides of Tupac. The philosophical side, the comedian side, the angry side, and the calm side. Frank explained that Tupac had a gifted mind that was rich with knowledge. But Tupac was still a troubled a young man who felt pressure to live up to his "thug life" reputation. And Pac seemed to know that his fast life would ultimately catch up with him one day. Frank discusses that he loved Tupac and Tupac's death put him in a depression. In the end of the book, Frank talks about how he got out of his depression and how his relationship with God strengthened. The epilogue contains a very heart-wrenching conversation between Frank and Afeni Shakur. This was an incredibly enjoyable book. I didn't feel like I was reading a book. It felt like I was having a conversation with Frank. The Tupac stories were very entertaining. Tupac accomplished so much in the last year of his life and this book does a tremendous job at capturing the charismatic man that is Tupac.
Excellent read from beginning to end. For Tupac fans, you really get to know him.Tupac’s thoughts ran so deep, and he experienced and accomplished so much, it is hard to believe he was barely 25 when he died. This book will remind you of that.
With so many stories of his life and legacy, fans find themselves looking for a bit of insight that was not known. This book allowed me to get access to a man that safely carried me through a decade of my life. A gift from God he was. Frank you did your thing, PAC would be proud. Thanks for sharing this part of him with us who loved him!
This is probably the best source of information of the last year of tupacs life that is out. No one could tell you any better unless they were probably the outlaws or Afeni Shakur herself and she approved this book so I'm very happy to read this. Franks lets you in on Pacs life the good, bad and ugly. From his sexcapades,incomparable work ethic,his anger to his more softer side. This book I would would recommend to anyone who wants to know the truth of tupac death row and what happened that ought of sept 7 and the aftermath. RIP Tupac RIP Frank Alexander

I loved this book ...R.I.P Big Frank, Yak, Afeni & Tupac Amaru Shakur also to others who have lost their lives through affiliation with death row, the music industry etc....The greatest rapper in the world was taken..even though I'm young and was only 4 when Tupac got shot I remember to this day seeing multiple videos of him on tv....i love Tupac as if we met before ...i wish it never happened but it did ...Thank you Frank for this amazing book ...
