The useful content that is not from the man page, mostly the workflows, could fit in a single chapter.
An awesome way to learn tmux. Had a few pitfalls installing/configuring but the rest was enjoyable
Content is top notch but the print quality is poor. The book looks like an inkjet printout with fuzzy text and the smaller screenshots are too fuzzy to make out. I plan on re-buying the book in a digital format and recycling the paper book.I also got the Practical Vim book from the same publisher that has the same print quality issues so I guess it's time to give up on print and go all digital.As for the content, I'm only part way through but so far the book is nice and concise and uses a wonderfully thought out method of slowly building on the basics and customizing the configuration. Whether you are switching to tmux from another multiplexer or new to terminal multiplexers, this book will have you up to speed in no time.Content - 5 StarsPrint Quality - 2 Stars
Great book for new to tmux, like me. I bought the kindle version, it is formatting very well. Reading the book on kindle app on my of my monitor and config and test/try on tmux on another monitor is good. The only problem for me is the .tmux.conf file. The sample in the book is bit outdated, I have to google the correct config and put it into my tmux conf to make it works.
This is a short and practical book focused on getting the most of tmux. It's important to note that a few things might have changed since the most recent version of tmux is 2.7 and this book supported some options from 2.3. Besides a few small differences, most of the content is still relevant and great for a refresh even for tmux veterans. Totally recommended.
